Food Products Require FDA Registration

Manufacturers of food & beverage products being exported to the United States must register their facilities with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the United States.

This is not a not a business registration, it’s a registration of each facility involved in the manufacture, packing and storage of food products intended for consumption in United States. As part of its bioterrorism preparedness, the FDA wants to be able to trace the origin of all food imported to the USA.

It’s essential for facilities to be registered, including storage facilities used during transportation, but it’s not an onerous process. The FDA now offers an online registration option.

World Wide Access, which is now exporting food products such as olive oil to the United States, uses FDA-approved carriers and warehouses, and manages FDA approvals and notifications during the export/import process.
