Industry analyst firm Forrester in its Asia Pacific Online Retail Forecast, 2011-2012 projects e-commerce in Japan, South Korea and Australia will grow 11-12% each year over the next five years, keeping pace with e-commerce growth in the United States and the developed e-commerce markets of Europe.
This is dwarfed by their projections that e-commerce in China, already Asia’s largest market, will grow by 25% each year. Forrester describes this as ‘unprecedented’, pointing out that it far outstrips the United States when it was at a similar stage.
The numbers Forrester predicts for India are even more spectacular: compund annual growth of 57%, albeit from a small base.
World Wide Access offers a new path to the Chinese market that bypasses conventional distribution arrangements and reaches customers in China directly.
