The NZTE-sponsored four-day Baby Sector High Impact workshop from WHK Gosling Chapman is an intensive business development programme designed specifically to help New Zealand baby product businesses expand. WHK Gosling Chapman has been running this training series for the past three years as part of the Enterprise Training Programme, recognising that there are a growing number of New Zealand businesses in the baby sector, many with export aspirations.
One of the workshop’s four days focused on exporting, and Paul Grey of World Wide Access was an invited guest speaker. He spoke on “Export 2.0”, describing for workshop attendees today’s e-commerce landscape in the United States, contrasting it with the New Zealand experience, and showing how the on-line world opens up opportunities for New Zealand businesses to export. The case study of Real Nappies‘ recent entry into the U.S. market, less than twelve weeks from ‘go’ decision to first in-market sale, underlined the potential.
Organiser of the export workshop, business growth adviser Juliet Hawkeswood, said, “I really appreciated Paul’s input and had extremely positive feedback from the whole group – the only complaint was that I didn’t allow him enough time!”
